Individual Growth Highlighted as Bobcats Drop Matchup to Powerhouse Wesleyan Christian

In the second week of the Blue Chip Tournament, the Glenn High School Bobcats faced a formidable opponent in a tall, deep, and highly skilled Wesleyan Christian squad. While Glenn attempted to trade blows early, Wesleyan Christian's size and offensive firepower ultimately proved too much to handle, leading to a decisive loss for the Bobcats.

Despite the team's overall struggle to keep pace, junior point guard Ethan Williams delivered a standout performance, proving his continued growth and resilience on the floor.

Getting the starting node at point guard, Williams took on the challenge of anchoring the Bobcats’ offense against intense defensive pressure. Running the floor with poise, Ethan put together a balanced and efficient stat line—finishing with 10 points, 2 assists, 1 block, and going a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.


Throughout the contest, Ethan demonstrated high-level court vision and tough perimeter defense, consistently battling to create opportunities for his teammates and hold off the relentless opponent. While the game fell out of reach for Glenn, Williams showed clear signs of maturity, competitive grit, and steady development as a primary playmaker—proving he can elevate his own play and produce against elite competition.

However, this past weekend, Ethan and the  NC Spartans (Coach Leak) proved they belong on the big stage. Facing older, physically imposing opponents, the squad demonstrated exceptional grit, reinforcing that elite competition accelerates player development. Bring on the challenge. Under Coach Leak’s leadership, the 16U Spartans delivered an impressive 2-1 record over their three-game slate beginning May 30.
